女淫妖与男淫妖相对应，指的是一种以入睡男子为猎物，吸收他们精元的妖魔。《女巫之锤》，这本中世纪猎魔人的行动指南讲述了女淫妖从男受害者处获得精子，然后男淫妖用这些精子使妇女怀孕。据称男淫妖和女淫妖都是犹太民间传说中亚当的前妻--莉莉丝的子女。在莉莉丝因为不愿屈服亚当在性交过程中处于女下位后，她受到驱逐，变成妖魔，生下以活人为猎物的莉莉姆这样的淫妖。
